Required Documentation for Secure Server Certificates
We require that you send or fax us some documentation
after you request a Web server certificate. Please make sure that you have
complied with all our documentation requirements.
There are 2 Required Documents:
The links below take you to detailed descriptions
of the documents we need. Please make sure that you have the correct
company name documentation in your possession before you create your
certificate request. Your certificate request will contain your company
name, province and country, which must match exactly the documentation
you send us. It's easier to get it right if you have the documentation in place
first!
- Proof of
Organizational Name (your certificate request must contain a company
name exactly as stated in this document)
- Proof of right to
use Domain Name (the common name in your certificate request must be for
this domain - please read the requirements to see if you need to send this
to us)
General Guidelines
- Repeat Requests
If this is the second or third certificate for the same domain and
with the same organization name, then you don't have to send ALL the
documentation again. You will need to ask us to
forward the documentation from the old request to apply for the new one.
The contents of the certificate must be exactly the same for this rule to
apply.
- Faxes and Originals
You may usually fax your documentation to us for faster processing. This is particularly
worthwhile if you are paying by credit card. You do not need to send the
original documentation by post, unless we explicitly ask you for it.
- Notarization and
Translation
Notarization of documents is not required. If we have
a representative in your country, then sending the documentation in the
language of that country is acceptable. If, however, we do not have a
representative from a country that speaks your language, then please make
certified English translations of the documentation and send them to us
along with copies of the originals.
